How to adopt a dog.

Adoption Procedure

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from us. Please read the following steps carefully to understand how our adoption process works:

1. Viewing Dogs

You can view all available dogs and their details on our website.

New arrivals are posted first on our Facebook page, so please check regularly for updates.

2. Application Process

If you see a dog you're interested in, please fill out an application form before requesting an appointment.

Appointments will only be offered once an application has been submitted. Please do not call to bypass the first step.

Please do not apply if you have children under 10 years old living in the home.

3. Application Review

Our adoption team will review your application to assess suitability for the specific dog you’ve applied for.

If your application is successful, we will contact you to arrange an appointment to meet the dog.

4. First Meeting

You are welcome to bring household members to the appointment.

We may advise limiting the number of visitors if we feel the dog could be overwhelmed (typically no more than 2 people for the first visit).

During this appointment, you’ll be able to:

Spend time with the dog at the kennels

Take them for a walk (unless restricted due to medical reasons such as recent castration)

5. Dog Introductions (if you own a dog)

If you already have a dog at home, we will arrange a second meeting to introduce the dogs.

Multiple meetings may be required until both dogs, the adopters, and our team are confident they are compatible.

6. Home Check

If all goes well, we will arrange a home visit with two members of the adoption team.

We will assess:

Outdoor space for safety

General home environment for anything potentially unsafe for a dog

We’re happy to advise on any improvements needed.

Lack of outdoor space does not automatically disqualify you, as long as you can provide suitable daily exercise. This will depend on the dog’s breed and needs.

Home checks are based on suitability for the specific dog, not a blanket pass/fail system.

7. Deposit

If the home check is successful, we require a £50 non-refundable deposit to reserve your dog.

8. Collection & Final Payment

A collection date will be arranged.

Upon collection, you will receive:

dog profile including microchip number, feeding info, etc.

The dog's Vet report

All known medical conditions will be disclosed during the initial appointment or in the advertisement. Ongoing medical care becomes the responsibility of the adopter.

You will sign the adoption paperwork, and the final payment of £250 will be due on collection.

9. Post-Adoption Support

A member of our team will follow up later the same day and again the following day after collection.

We are always available for you to contact with any concerns or questions.
